For both guitarists the road has been a long one and as a result you can be assurred that they bring a wealth of musical talent and experience to each performance.  

Tony Portlock and Matt Thorpe first met mid-2009 when they were introduced by Nick Thompson who had been playing bass with Tony. Later that year Matt joined Tony's TNT project, a new band. TNT is an acoustic four piece band which includes Tony Barrett - Vocal,Guitar and Nick Thompson - Double Bass and of course Tony and Matt.  TNT have played gigs and festivals across the West Midlands, to much acclaim.

Matt recently recorded and produced Tony Portlock's latest CD release 'End of The Day' and played on 5 of the 18 tracks. The CD became available June 2010.

Tony is a leading figure on the West Midlands folk scene. He has recorded for Radio Shropshire and West Midlands Radio, Radio Maldwynn and regularly performs at leading national folk festivals including Warwick, Upton Upon Severn, Redditch, Wolverhampton's Folk on the Farm, Hebden Bridge, Bridgnorth and Bromyard, to mention but a few. With his powerful voice and dazzling guitar skills he performs an eclectic mix of folk, blues and jazz in both traditional and contemporary styles, interspersed with virtuoso instrumentals. Tony works with many musicians and singers.

Matt Thorpe

Matt has been playing the guitar and writing original music for over 40 years and has played and recorded with many great musicians along the way. Around 1999 Matt embarked on a  project as a solo artist writing and recording music the results of which are eight CD albums of mainly instrumental music. This music is a mixture of styles incorporating rock, blues and some jazzier fusion tunes too. The music was distributed in both CD and mp3 formats worldwide through the then website for independent artists. Until late 2004 when was closed down by the RIAA Matt had enjoyed success selling CD's to almost every country in the world and had collaborated with many international musicians. At the height of these collaboartions was a recording session Matt attended in Nashville USA 2002 where various artists decided to meet up for a one of recording session. Matt later mixed and produced the Nashville Sessions album at his recording studio. Since then Matt has continued performing with local bands and friends and more often lately tearing up the frets on acoustic guitar playing folk, rock and blues.
